The Inner Drive Extensible Architecture™—the Idea™

Internationalization and globalization

This Website, and the Inner Drive Extensible Architecture™—the Idea™—running it, now support a number of languages and cultures. But you may notice that most of the content is in U.S. English, even when the page you're looking at says it's in another language.

This is because this Website brings together a number of different pieces from the Inner Drive reqpertoire, and we haven't translated all of the pieces yet.

This chart shows the components of the Inner Drive Website and the Inner Drive Extensible Architecture, and how much of each we've translated, as of the current builds:

What this means

The chart shows that none of the Website content has been translated, even though a good bit of the navigation has been. So if you go to the Demo page, and choose a language from the drop-down box, you might see the navigation links on the left, and the table headings on the demo form, change to the language you chose—even though the rest of the page is in English.

Why these languages?

We chose French, Spanish, and Portuguese because the IDT crew speaks them with some fluency; Italian, because it's easy to translate from Spanish; and German and Polish, because we have friends who speak those languages. Finally, we'd like to thank Tarmo Tanilsoo for providing Estonian translations.

Also, the Inner Drive Extensible Architecture will get translated before anything else, because it's the foundation of everything else. But we try to be thorough. Bear with us.

We'll probably be adding Greek, Russian, Arabic, and maybe even Gaelic before too long. If you'd like to add to our list, send us a message.

Cultures supported

These are the cultures and languages we have so far:

N.B.: Our default English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese cultures are North and South American because, well, we're located in North America.
